Sandy Historical Research Group
Meets on the 2nd Tuesday every month. Usual venue is Sandy Village Hall (in the back bar), commencing at 7.30pm.

Saturday 21st June 2008 - Exhibition at Sandy Festival Day, held in the grounds of Sandye Place Middle School, from 1.30pm
Saturday 26th July 2008 - Exhibition, Beeston Methodist Church, 10.30 - 4.00
Saturday/Sunday 16th 17th August 2008 - Exhibition, at Sandy Show, held in the school hall of Sandye Place Middle School. Saturday from 1.30, Sunday from 10.30

Forthcoming Meetings 2008Wed 30th April MEMBERS NIGHT A chance to bring along your favourite subject for your fellow members. Wed 28th May West Coast Route Modernisation, A Recent History Peter Stanton gives a look at the works being carried out to bring the WCML into the 21st century. Wed 25th June QUIZ NIGHT John Harradine returns with the bi-annual quiz. Wed 30th July AGM AT POTTON STATION Courtesy of George and Beryl the AGM is held at Potton Station, up side with a presentation following business. Wed 27th August ON AND OFF THE FOOTPLATE Bill Davies returns with more of his tales on the inner workings of a driver. Wed 24th September 1950’S ROAD HEAVY HAULAGE Alan Pepper brings to the society the world of Wynns, Pickfords, Circus and fairground heavy haulage. Wed 29th October ACROSS CANADA PART 2 With a camera being part of Neil Wheelwrights luggage, we are able to follow in his footsteps as we return to our journey across Canada. Wed 26th November My Railway travels Dave Soggee brings us more travels with his camera and some Ektachrome. No December meeting Non members are most welcome.
